Kenneth Kacmar
(Composer) won both the Telly Award and The Videographers Award of
Excellence for his original score for the video Even You.
Originally from Cleveland, Ken worked for The Cleveland Play House as a
composer and musical director for several seasons. Musical directing
credits there include: Blues in the Night (starring Ernestine
Jackson); I Do, I Do (starring Gary Sandy); Louie, Louie; The
Emperor’s New Clothes and The Red Shoes. Composing credits
include: The Red Shoes; Myth Adventures; The Emperor’s New Clothes;
Androcles and the Lion; Man of the Moment; The House of Blue Leaves;
Tales of the Lost Formicans. His music for the play The Oldest
Story Ever Told, originally produced by Circle in the Square, has
been published by Anchorage Press. Kenneth served as assistant
musical director for both 20th Century Pop starring
Rita Coolidge, Darlene Love and Merry Clayton (Kennedy Center) and 20th
Century R&B starring Vivian Reed, Maxine Brown and Bunny Sigler
(Rainbow and Stars). He was the Associate Orchestrator for Randy
Newman’s Faust (La Jolla Playhouse). Kenneth has been associated
with The Manhattan Theater Club, the Stage Directors and Choreographers
Foundation and the BMI Musical Theater Workshop. Most recently, Kenneth
was commissioned by The Cleveland Play House to write a new musical
based on the work of the Brothers Grimm.
Joe Miloscia (Bookwriter/Lyricist)
has written songs with a number of composers, as well as the book and/or
lyrics for the musicals Songs of a Silent Heart, Le Grand
Café, A Lost World, The Best of Your Life and Sixteen Wheels of
Pain, as well as lyrics for the video Even You. As a
director in New York, Joe directed: Partners (Stanton Theatre);
The Interview, Mirror Mirror,
and Cowboys (all at Studio Theatre); Some Summer
Night (New Stages); A Midsummer Night's Dream (Hunter
Delacorte Theatre) and assisted on For Whom the Belle Tolls by
Christopher Durang (original production at AMDA). Additional NYC
credits include Man of La Mancha, the Broadway revival with
Richard Kiley (Assistant Musical Supervisor) and Romeo and Juliet
at the Clurman Theatre (Producer). He was Resident Director for
Reckless Dialogue Theatre and, for eight years, was Founder/Artistic
Director of New Stages Musical Arts where he created the New American
Musical Writers Festival, produced 14 new musicals (including eight
premieres) and earned the support of some of musical theatres most
prominent artists. Joe recently served three years as executive
director of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation where he
significantly raised the organization’s profile in the artistic
community and media, increased program participation by more than 800%
and raised more than $500,000 in three years. He also
produced the “Mr. Abbott” Award ceremony from 2001-2003 honoring
Susan Stroman, Jack O’Brien and Lynne Meadow, respectively, and created
a number of new signature initiatives such as DanceBreak (the
celebrated choreographers’ showcase), the Mike Ockrent Fellowship for
Musical Theatre, the Artist Action Committee, the
Director-Producer Exchange, and the new Journal for Stage
Directors and Choreographers, a leading arts industry
magazine.
